Journal ArticleDOI
Recombinant interferon alfa therapy for chronic hepatitis C. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
A. M. Di Bisceglie,Paul Martin,Chris Kassianides,Mauricio Lisker-Melman,Linda M. Murray,Jeanne G. Waggoner,Z. Goodman,Steven M. Banks,Jay H. Hoofnagle +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that interferon alfa therapy is beneficial in reducing disease activity in chronic hepatitis C; however, the beneficial responses are often transient.
Journal ArticleDOI
Replacement Therapy for Inherited Enzyme Deficiency — Macrophage-Targeted Glucocerebrosidase for Gaucher's Disease
Norman W. Barton,Roscoe O. Brady,James M. Dambrosia,A. M. Di Bisceglie,Samuel H. Doppelt,Suvimol Hill,Henry J. Mankin,Gary J. Murray,Robert I. Parker,Charles E. Argoff +9 more
TL;DR: Intravenous administration of macrophage-targeted glucocerebrosidase produces objective clinical improvement in patients with type 1 Gaucher's disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long-term remission of chronic hepatitis B after alpha-interferon therapy.
J. Korenman,B. Baker,Jeanne G. Waggoner,James E. Everhart,A. M. Di Bisceglie,Jay H. Hoofnagle +5 more
TL;DR: Remissions in chronic hepatitis B induced by alpha-interferon are of long duration and are followed, in most patients, by the loss of HBsAg and all evidence of residual virus replication.
Journal ArticleDOI
Decrease in serum hepatitis C viral RNA during alpha-interferon therapy for chronic hepatitis C
Michiko Shindo,A. M. Di Bisceglie,Ling Cheung,James Wai-Kuo Shih,K. Cristiano,Stephen M. Feinstone,Jay H. Hoofnagle +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of alpha-interferon therapy on hepatitis C viral RNA in serum of patients with chronic hepatitis C was evaluated. But, the results were limited.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increasing hepatitis C virus RNA levels in hemophiliacs: relationship to human immunodeficiency virus infection and liver disease. Multicenter Hemophilia Cohort Study
TL;DR: It is concluded that HCV RNA levels are significantly higher in HIV+ than in HIV- multitransfused hemophiliacs, and this findings suggest that HIV-induced immune deficiency may promote increased HCV replication.
