Journal ArticleDOI
Response to water stress of Celosia argentea and Corchorus olitorius in controlled environments
TL;DR: Recovery of most growth variables occurred in both treatments, with a stimulation of leaf weight, area and number in Celosia because the milder drying cycle induced axillary leaf development.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of temperature on the growth of Solanum nigrum and Amaranthus hybridus
TL;DR: Both species had rapid mean relative growth rates during the 7–14-day growth period and the nearest to optimum temperature for both species was 30 25° C , based on the production of leaves and stems, which are the nutritionally important plant parts in these species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of levels of photosynthetically active radiation on the growth of Amaranthus hybridus and Celosia argentea.
TL;DR: The largest plants were Green Head at the highest PAR level as a result of both greater leaf area and higher net assimilation rate up to 21 days, and a major part of the increased plant weight was stem tissue.
