Journal Article

The Gyrotron

TL;DR: In this article, the authors described the genealogical tree of the gyrotron, stimulated emission of cyclotron radiation in microwave electronics from magnetron to gyroscope, and arrangement of the Gyroscope.
Journal ArticleDOI

Invited paper. Powerful millimetre-wave gyrotrons

TL;DR: The theory of the gyroron permits one to determine self-excitation conditions and optimum values of gyrotron parameters which provide high efficiency, taking into account electron velocity spread and an unfixed axial structure of the RF field in open cavities with low Q.
Journal ArticleDOI

The gyrotron: High-power source of millimetre and submillimetre waves

TL;DR: Theoretical and experimental studies show that the gyrotron is the most effective and powerful version of the cyclotron resonance maser (CRM), and that the power of gyrotrons in 10−4sec duration pulses exceeds one megawatt at wavelengths longer than 3 mm as mentioned in this paper.
