A field evaluation of arm prostheses for unilateral amputees
TL;DR: A post-clinical investigation has been carried out among 42 unilateral amputees who lost their hand due to an accident, directed at the amputee, the problems he has to cope with, and the role the prosthesis plays in his life.
Journal ArticleDOI
A lightspot operated typewriter for severely physically handicapped patients.
TL;DR: The ergonomic aspects of the design of a typewriter system for quadriplegic patients are discussed and it is shown how the character arrangement, the geometry of the lightspot and panel and the way of generating a type command were optimised.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aiding the operator in the manual control of a space manipulator
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effect of reference lines on the 3D perception of a space manipulator and showed that reference lines enhance 3D vision and further automation of the insert task led to a more efficient task execution.
Aiding the operator in the manual control of a space manipulator
TL;DR: The results showed that reference lines enhance the 3D perception; further autonation of the insert task led to a more efficient task execution; the display of the stopping configuration can lead to a faster and safer task execution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Descriptive dynamic models for goal-directed arm movements
D. Sparreboom,A. van Lunteren +1 more
TL;DR: It was found that a simple feedback model with an additional delay time outside the control loop was very satisfactory for the four subjects engaged in the experiments, and an extension of the model with a feedforward element was found to be rather irrelevant for the experimental conditions applied.
