Assessment of natural and anthropogenic radioactivity levels in rocks and soils in the environments of Juban town in Yemen

TL;DR: In this paper, the gamma-ray spectrometer using HPGe detector with specially designed shield was used to detect radionuclides in rock and soil samples collected around Juban town in Yemen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural radioactivity of ground and hot spring water in some areas in Yemen

TL;DR: In this paper, the average activity concentrations for groundwater from Assalamia-Alhomira and Juban areas and hot spring water from Dempt area (south Sana'a) in Yemen were analyzed for 226Ra, 232Th and 40 K activity concentrations.

Concentration of u-238, u-235, ra-226, th-232 and k- 40 for some granite samples in eastern desert of egypt.

TL;DR: In this paper, the distribution of natural radionuclide γ-ray activities and their respective annual effective dose rates, produced by 40 K, 238 U, 226 Ra, 235 U and 232 Th, were determined for granite samples collected along the road of Idfu - Marsa Alam in eastern desert of Egypt.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radioactivity Levels and Soil-to-Plant Transfer Factor of Natural Radionuclides from Protectorate Area in Aswan, Egypt

TL;DR: In this article, the transfer factor soil-to-plant and the concentration level of natural and artificial radionuclide (238U, 226Ra, 228Ra, 232Th, 40K and 137Cs) in samples from Saluga and Ghazal Protectorate area in Aswan, Egypt, by using High Pure Germanium detector (HPGe) Environmental Radioactivity Measurements Labrotary in faculty of science Qena.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural radioactivity and their radiological effects for different types of rocks from Egypt

TL;DR: In this article, the radioactivity level of the rocks samples collected from different sites in Egypt were analyzed by gamma-ray spectrometry using NaI(Tl) detector with specially designed shield.
