An Experimental Study of Design Information Reuse
TL;DR: A framework for understanding the character and the basic constitution of information that should be recorded during design for the reuse process to be useful and productive is developed.

A Visual Representation to Characterize Moment to Moment Concept Generation in Design Teams
TL;DR: The development of a visual notation called the Interaction Dynamics Notation for representing moment-to-moment concept generation through interpersonal interactions is presented and is shown to be effective in revealing patterns of interaction previously unfamiliar to design research.
Distributed team innovation : a framework for distributed product development
Andreas Larsson,Peter Törlind,Lennart Karlsson,Ade Mabogunje,Larry Leifer,Tobias Larsson,Bengt-Olof Elfström +6 more
TL;DR: The Distributed Team Innovation (DTI) framework as discussed by the authors aims to decrease the negative impact of geographic distance on product development efforts and to further enhance current advantages of worldwide, multidisciplinary collaboration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Developing a visual representation to characterize moment-to-moment concept generation in design teams
TL;DR: In this paper, the Interaction Dynamics Notation (IDN) is proposed for representing moment-to-moment concept generation through interpersonal interactions, which was developed through a video-observation study conducted with two engineering design teams engaged in a concept generation activity.
