TL;DR: Patients with sudden loss of smell should initiate social distancing and home isolation measures and be tested for SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic test when available and the evaluation of smell/taste disorders with a visual analogue scale or an individual olfactory or gustatory test, at the hospital or by telemedicine to prevent contamination.

TL;DR: Investigation of the frequency and severity of STD in COVID-19 patients and the association with demographic characteristics, hospital admission, symptoms, comorbidities, and blood biomarkers found an older age, being hospitalized and an increased level of C-reactive protein were factors associated with a better sense of smell and/or taste.

TL;DR: To date, the literature is widely heterogeneous regarding the loss of smell; therefore, home isolation measures and/or social distancing are advised, and diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 when possible in those patients with sudden and severe loss of sense who cannot be promptly evaluated.

TL;DR: Stratified analysis by the severity of OGD showed that more than 60% of COVID-19 subjects presented a severe OGD who took a longer time to recover compared to those with mild symptoms.
