Journal ArticleDOI
Standardized Bleeding Definitions for Cardiovascular Clinical Trials A Consensus Report From the Bleeding Academic Research Consortium
Roxana Mehran,Sunil V. Rao,Deepak L. Bhatt,C. Michael Gibson,Adriano Caixeta,John W. Eikelboom,Sanjay Kaul,Stephen D. Wiviott,Venu Menon,Eugenia Nikolsky,Victor L. Serebruany,Marco Valgimigli,Pascal Vranckx,David P. Taggart,Joseph F. Sabik,Donald E. Cutlip,Mitchell W. Krucoff,E. Magnus Ohman,Philippe Gabriel Steg,Harvey D. White +19 more
TL;DR: Bleeding complications have been associated with an increased risk of subsequent adverse outcomes, including MI, stroke, stent thrombosis, and death, in patients with ACS and in those undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) as well as in the long-term antithrombotic setting.
Journal ArticleDOI
In-stent restenosis in the drug-eluting stent era.
TL;DR: Based upon the current available evidence, an algorithm for the treatment approaches to DES restenosis is proposed and its pattern is predominantly focal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Bleeding on Mortality After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: Results From a Patient-Level Pooled Analysis of the REPLACE-2 (Randomized Evaluation of PCI Linking Angiomax to Reduced Clinical Events), ACUITY (Acute Catheterization and Urgent Intervention Triage Strategy), and HORIZONS-AMI (Harmonizing Outcomes With Revascularization and Stents in Acute Myocardial Infarction) Trials
Roxana Mehran,Stuart J. Pocock,Eugenia Nikolsky,George Dangas,Tim Clayton,Bimmer E. Claessen,Adriano Caixeta,Frederick Feit,Steven V. Manoukian,Harvey D. White,Michel E. Bertrand,E. Magnus Ohman,Helen Parise,Alexandra J. Lansky,A. Michael Lincoff,Gregg W. Stone +15 more
TL;DR: Non-CABG-related bleeding within 30 days is strongly associated with an increased risk of subsequent mortality at 1 year in patients undergoing PCI for all indications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantification and Impact of Untreated Coronary Artery Disease After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: The Residual SYNTAX (Synergy Between PCI With Taxus and Cardiac Surgery) Score
Philippe Généreux,Tullio Palmerini,Adriano Caixeta,Gregg F. Rosner,Philip Green,Ovidiu Dressler,Ke Xu,Helen Parise,Roxana Mehran,Patrick W. Serruys,Gregg W. Stone +10 more
TL;DR: The rSS is useful to quantify and risk-stratify the degree and complexity of residual stenosis after percutaneous coronary intervention and is a strong independent predictor of all ischemic outcomes at 1 year, including all-cause mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic value of the SYNTAX score in patients with acute coronary syndromes undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: analysis from the ACUITY (Acute Catheterization and Urgent Intervention Triage StrategY) trial.
Tullio Palmerini,Philippe Généreux,Adriano Caixeta,Ecaterina Cristea,Alexandra J. Lansky,Roxana Mehran,George Dangas,Dana Lazar,Raquel Sanchez,Martin Fahy,Ke Xu,Gregg W. Stone +11 more
TL;DR: In patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes undergoing PCI, the SS is an independent predictor of the 1-year rates of death, cardiac death, MI, and TVR.
