Biodegradation of the plastics PLA and PET in cultivated soil with the participation of microorganisms and plants

TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of selected rhizosphere strains in accelerating the biodegradation of plastics in cultivated soil was verified by a continuation of experiments conducted in compost soil and the results can be used to develop an effective method for remediating plastic wastes in soils and landfills.
Journal ArticleDOI

Some composting and biodegradation effects of physically or chemically crosslinked poly(lactic acid)

TL;DR: In this paper, the behavior of polylactide (PLA) crosslinked by using both triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and electron radiation or using dicumyl peroxide (DCP) was studied with the aim of examining the behaviour of the modified polymer under various environmental conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparative analysis of mass losses of some aliphatic polyesters upon enzymatic degradation

TL;DR: In this article, the mass losses, geometrical surface structure changes and variations in crystallinity of poly(lactic acid) and commercially available material (PHB) are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride (PHMG) derivatives introduced into polylactide (PLA) on the activity of bacterial enzymes

TL;DR: All PHMG derivatives had a slightly stronger bactericidal effect on Staphylococcus aureus than on E. coli but only PHMG granular polyethylene wax (at the concentration of at least 0.6 %) has a bactericidalEffect.
