Development of the fracture-based flexibility index for asphalt concrete cracking potential using modified semi-circle bending test parameters

TL;DR: In this paper, a fracture energy and flexibility index (FI) was proposed to screen asphalt concrete mixtures' cracking resistance using the semi-circular bending test geometry, and the results indicated positive correlation between SCB test results and other independent fatigue tests.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fracture Characterization of Asphalt Mixtures with High Recycled Content Using Illinois Semicircular Bending Test Method and Flexibility Index

TL;DR: In this paper, a fracture testing method, the Illinois semicircular bending (IL-SCB) fracture geometry at 25°C with a displacement rate of 50 mm/min.

Illinois Highway Materials Sustainability Efforts of 2013

TL;DR: In this paper, the sustainability efforts of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) in recycling and reclaiming materials for use in highway construction are documented by documenting IDOT's efforts to reduce the carbon footprint and achieve cost savings through the use of recycled materials in asphalt paving projects.
