Data challenges for evaluating new treatments

TL;DR: A modest improvement in survival for patients newly diagnosed with advanced adenocarcinoma of the lung, melanoma, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and renal cell carcinoma is reported, and point estimates of 2-year survival increased by approximately 3 percentage points for patients diagnosed in 2011 and 2012.
