Journal ArticleDOI

Nutrition and health of aquaculture fish.

TL;DR: It is becoming evident that diets overfortified with specific nutrients at levels above requirement may improve health condition and disease resistance in fish, and functional constituents other than essential nutrients are also currently being considered in fish nutrition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nutritional regulation of hepatic glucose metabolism in fish

TL;DR: Overall, data strongly suggest that the liver of most fish species is apparently capable of regulating glucose storage, and the persistent high level of endogenous glucose production independent of carbohydrate intake level may lead to a putative competition between exogenous glucose and endogenous glucose as the source of energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of dietary lipid level on growth performance and feed utilization by European sea bass juveniles (Dicentrarchus labrax)

TL;DR: The results of this trial indicate that an increase of dietary lipid level from 12 to 24% did not improve growth performance and feed efficiency of sea bass juveniles, and the increase of Dietary lipid level beyond 12% had no beneficial effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Partial replacement of fishmeal by brewers yeast (Saccaromyces cerevisae) in diets for sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) juveniles

TL;DR: Results of this trial indicate that brewers yeast can replace 50% of fishmeal protein with no negative effects in fish performance and the inclusion of up to 30% brewers yeast in the diet improved feed efficiency.
