A photosensitive resin composition comprising, as its main ingredient, a poly(amic acid) resin constituted of a diamino compound represented by formula: ##STR1## and optionally used other diamino compound and a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride as its constituent monomers and/or a poly(amic acid) ester resin obtained by esterifying said poly(amic acid) resin and/or a polyimide resin obtained by a dehydrating or alcohol-eliminating ring-closure reaction of said poly(amic acid) resin or poly(amic acid) ester resin has an excellent developability and a high film strength and can form a relief patter of low thermal expansion.

A photographic imaging system is disclosed comprised of a hardenable organic component containing ethylenic unsaturation sites and an initiator system for ethylenic addition. The initiator system is comprised of an electron acceptor activator, an electron donor activator, and, acting as a photosensitizer, a dye capable of absorbing imaging radiation. The dye has a reduction potential related to that of the electron acceptor activator and an oxidation potential related to that of the electron donor activator to permit each to release a free radical upon excitation of the photosensitizer by exposure to actinic radiation.

Dye sensitized photographic imaging system

An improved ink suitable for ink jet printing comprising, a mixture of a colorant, an arylketoalkene stabilizing compound or a photoreactor, and a liquid vehicle, wherein the colorant is light-stable. When the photoreactor is combined with a wavelength-selective sensitizer to form a radiation transorber, the colorant is mutable upon exposure of the radiation transorber to specific, narrow bandwidth radiation. The colored composition may also contain a molecular includant having a chemical structure which defines at least one cavity wherein each of the colorant and photoreactor or radiation transorber is associated with the molecular includant. The invention also includes ink jet print cartridges containing the improved ink, ink jet printers containing the improved ink and methods of printing using the improved ink.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a photosensitive composition which forms a smooth photosensitive layer, has good storage stability and exhibits high sensitivity when a blue-violet laser exposure system is used; a photosensitive film; a permanent pattern forming method using the photosensitive composition; and a printed circuit board on which a permanent pattern is formed by the permanent pattern forming method. SOLUTION: The photosensitive composition comprises an alkali-soluble photosensitive resin, a polymerizable compound, a photopolymerization initiator or a photoinitiator compound, a heat crosslinkable resin, and a colorant, wherein the colorant comprises a pigment which contains halogen atoms of 5-50 mass% within a molecule and takes on yellow, and a pigment which contains no halogen atom within a molecule and takes on blue, in a mixing ratio (mass ratio) of 1:1 to 1:4, and the colorant takes on green by blending of those pigments and has a halogen content of ≤900 ppm in the total solid. There are also provided the photosensitive film, the permanent pattern forming method using the photosensitive composition, and the printed circuit board on which a permanent pattern is formed by the permanent pattern forming method. In a photopolymerizable composition comprising (1) an addition-polymerizable compound having at least one ethylenically unsaturated double bond and (2) a photopolymerization initiator as essential components, the improvement which comprises that said photopolymerization initiator is a combination of (a) p-dialkylamino aromatic carbonyl compounds represented by the general formulae (1) to (4), (b) 5-isoxazolones represented by the general formula (5) and (c) 2,4,6-substituted-1,3,5-triazines represented by the general formula (6): ##STR1## where R 1 , R 2 and R 3 each represents an alkyl group or a substituted alkyl group, which may be the same or different from one another, X represents a substituent having a Hammett's σ value in the range from -0.9 to 0.7, m represents 1 or 2, A 1 and A 2 each represents an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an alkylcarbonyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryl group, a substituted aryl group, an arylcarbonyl group or a hydrogen atom, which may be the same or different from each other, and R 4 , R 5 and R 6 each represents an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an aryl group, a substituted aryl group or an aralkyl group, which may be the same or different from each other, but at least one of them represents a mono-, di- or trihalomethyl group.

Photopolymerizable composition comprising multi-photoinitiator system

PURPOSE: To provide the titled high-sensitivity novel composition having increased rate of photo-polymerization, by compound an ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable compound with a phenylacridine compound and a heterocyclic thiol compound as photopolymerization initiators. CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be prepared by compounding (A) a polymerizable compound containing ethylenic unsaturated double bond (e.g. unsaturated carboxylic acid such as acrylic acid) with (B) a 9-phenylacridine compound (preferably 9-phenylacridine) and (C) a heterocyclic compound having thiol group bonded to an N-containing 5W7-membered heterocyclic group (preferably 2-mercaptobenzimidazole, etc.). EFFECT: The composition gives a photo-set product having excellent elasticity, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, ink receptivity, stain removability, etc. USE: Printing material for offset printing. NEW MATERIAL:2-Arylnaphtho[1,8-bc]furan-5-ones expressed by formaula I: (G is trifunctional residuce derived from benzene or naphthalene ring; R and R are 1-5C alkyl, 1-3C alkoxyl, halogen or H; however, except where G is benzene ring and R and R are H together). EXAMPLE:2-(3,5-Dimethyl phenyl)naphtho[1,8-bc]-furan-5-one. USE:Photopolymerization initiators for addition-polymerizable ethylenic compounds capable of giving photopolymerizable compositions having high sensitivity and thermal stability. PROCESS:Compounds of formula II: (Q is halogen, 1-5C alkyl, alkyl substituted aminoalkylene; e is an integer 1-5; however, except 4,8-substitution product) are reacted with compounds of formula III: (R and R are the same as R and R ) in the presence of zinc chloride under heating to give the objective compounds of formula I.
