A photosensitive resin composition comprising, as its main ingredient, a poly(amic acid) resin constituted of a diamino compound represented by formula: ##STR1## and optionally used other diamino compound and a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride as its constituent monomers and/or a poly(amic acid) ester resin obtained by esterifying said poly(amic acid) resin and/or a polyimide resin obtained by a dehydrating or alcohol-eliminating ring-closure reaction of said poly(amic acid) resin or poly(amic acid) ester resin has an excellent developability and a high film strength and can form a relief patter of low thermal expansion.

An improved ink suitable for ink jet printing comprising, a mixture of a colorant, an arylketoalkene stabilizing compound or a photoreactor, and a liquid vehicle, wherein the colorant is light-stable. When the photoreactor is combined with a wavelength-selective sensitizer to form a radiation transorber, the colorant is mutable upon exposure of the radiation transorber to specific, narrow bandwidth radiation. The colored composition may also contain a molecular includant having a chemical structure which defines at least one cavity wherein each of the colorant and photoreactor or radiation transorber is associated with the molecular includant. The invention also includes ink jet print cartridges containing the improved ink, ink jet printers containing the improved ink and methods of printing using the improved ink.

A light-sensitive composition particularly suitable for making light-sensitive lithographic printing plates is described composed of a mixture of a sensitizer and a photo-crosslinkable polymer, or a mixture of a sensitizer, a compound including a light-sensitive azido group and a polymer reactive with a decomposate of azido groups to be formed upon exposure to light, and a sensitizer represented by the formula (I) ##STR1## wherein A represents a non-metallic atomic group necessary for forming a heterocyclic ring containing nitrogen; R 1 represents an alkyl group or a substituted alkyl group; R 2 represents hydrogen, an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an aryl group, or a substituted aryl group; and Y and Z each represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom.

Light-sensitive compositions

Radiation-sensitive organo-halogen compounds having a photo-labile halomethyl-1,3,5-triazine moiety and at least one sensitizer moiety within one molecule. The compounds of this invention are good photoinitiators, and compositions containing them can be used in printing, duplicating, copying, and other imaging systems.

A photopolymerizable composition comprising, as essential components, (A) at least one compound having one or more addition polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated double bonds and (B) a photopolymerization initiator composition comprising (i) a combination of at least one compound (a) and at least one compound (b), (ii) a combination of at least one compound (a) and at least one compound (c) or (iii) a combination of at least one compound (a), at least one compound (b) and at least one compound (c); Wherein compound (a) is a benzoylmethylenebenzothiazolylidenethiazolidone compound selected from the group consisting of 2-benzoylmethylene-5-benzothiazolylidenethiazolidin-4-one and the substituted derivatives thereof represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R 1 , R 2 and X are as defined in the specification; COMPOUND (B) IS A TERTIARY OR POLYAMINE COMPOUND SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF TERTIARY AMINES REPRESENTED BY THE FOLLOWING GENERAL FORMULA (II): ##STR2## wherein R 3 , R 4 and R 5 are as defined in the specification; and Compound (c) is a disubstituted aminoarylcarbonyl compound selected from a defined group.

Photopolymerizable composition comprising multi-photoinitiator system

A photopolymerizable composition is disclosed, comprising a polymerizable compound having at least one ethylenic unsaturated double bond and a photopolymerization initiator, where the photopolymerization initiator is a combination of (A) acridine having a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group at 9-position and (B) a heterocyclic compound having a thiol group connected to a 5- to 7-membered heterocyclic ring containing at least one nitrogen atom. The photopolymermizable composition is useful for preparation of lithographic plates and photoresists and as an adhesive, printing ink or coating material.

Photopolymerizable composition comprising an acridine and a heterocyclic thiol compound as a photopolymerization initiator and a photographic process using said photopolymerizable composition

PURPOSE: To provide the titled high-sensitivity novel composition having increased rate of photo-polymerization, by compound an ethylenic unsaturated polymerizable compound with a phenylacridine compound and a heterocyclic thiol compound as photopolymerization initiators. CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be prepared by compounding (A) a polymerizable compound containing ethylenic unsaturated double bond (e.g. unsaturated carboxylic acid such as acrylic acid) with (B) a 9-phenylacridine compound (preferably 9-phenylacridine) and (C) a heterocyclic compound having thiol group bonded to an N-containing 5W7-membered heterocyclic group (preferably 2-mercaptobenzimidazole, etc.). EFFECT: The composition gives a photo-set product having excellent elasticity, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, ink receptivity, stain removability, etc. USE: Printing material for offset printing.
