TL;DR: In this paper, the pertechnetate ion with aqueous sodium dithionite was reduced to hexakis(alkyl isocyanide) technetium(I) hexafluorophosphate (Tc(CNR)/sub 6/)PF/sub 6/ (where R = tert-butyl, methyl, cyclohexyl, and phenyl), and the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, optical, ir, and /sup 1/H NMR spectroscopy, conductance, cyclic voltammetry, and field des
Abstract: The complexes, hexakis(alkyl isocyanide) technetium(I) hexafluorophosphate (Tc(CNR)/sub 6/)PF/sub 6/ (where R = tert-butyl, methyl, cyclohexyl, and phenyl), have been prepared by reduction of the pertechnetate ion with aqueous sodium dithionite (Na/sub 2/S/sub 2/O/sub 4/) in the presence of the isocyanide ligands. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, optical, ir, and /sup 1/H NMR spectroscopy, conductance, cyclic voltammetry, and field desorption mass spectrometry.

TL;DR: The nature of two technetium-labeled radiopharmaceutical components has been established by means of fast-atom-bombardment mass spectrometry (FABMS) in combination with carrier-added (CA) and no-carrier- added (NCA) reversed-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Abstract: The nature of two technetium-labeled radiopharmaceutical components has been established by means of fast-atom-bombardment mass spectrometry (FABMS) in combination with carrier-added (CA) and no-carrier-added (NCA) reversed-phase high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC). Negative-ion FABMS was used to determine that the epimers of Tc-CO2DADS are the oxo[N,N'-(1-carboxyethylene)-bis-(2-mercaptoacetimido)]technetate(V) ions; positive-ion FABMS showed that Tc-HIDA is bis[N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl-carbamoylmethyliminodiaceto]technetate(III).

TL;DR: In this article, the ligand exchange reactions of various oxotechnetium(V) complexes with 1,2-dithiols have been investigated, and different mechanisms and/or intermediates are observed in each case.
Abstract: The ligand-exchange reactions of various oxotechnetium(V) complexes with 1,2-dithiols have been investigated. The complexes (TcO(OCH/sub 2/CH/sub 2/O)/sub 2/)/sup -/(1), (TcO(O/sub 2/C/sub 6/H/sub 4/)/sub 2/)/sup -/(2), and (TcO(SCH/sub 2/CH/sub 2/O)/sub 2/)/sup -/(3) all react with 2 equiv of 1,2-ethanedithiol to ultimately form (TcO(SCH/sub 2/CH/sub 2/S)/sub 2/)/sup -/(4). However, different mechanisms and/or intermediates are observed in each case. The reaction of 1 proceeds without evidence for the formation of intermediates. In the reaction of 2, an intermediate is detected, which is probably a mixed-ligand oxotechnetium monomer; and in the reaction of 3 the spectrum of the intermediate formed is similar to that of the dimer species ((TcO)/sub 2/(SCH/sub 2/CH/sub 2/S)/sub 3/) (5). The relation of these results to ligand-exchange reactions of 1,2-dithiols with citrate complexes of technetium is discussed. Reaction of 1,3-propanedithiol with (TcOCl/sub 4/)/sup -/ gives a compond formulated as ((TcO)/sub 2/(SCH/sub 2/CH/sub 2/CH/sub 2/S)/sub 3/), which does not react with further amounts of ligand to form the bis(1,3-dithiolato) monomer, as would be anticipated from the sequential formation of 4 from 5 in the reacton of (TcOCl/sub 4/)/sup -/ with 1,2-ethanedithiol.

Abstract: The synthesis, reactivity and molecular structure of a variety of technetium(V) completes are reviewed. The oxotechnetium(V) species are most conveniently categorized on the basis of their oxotechnetium cores (a) TcO 3+ ; (b) trans -TcO 2 + ; and (c) linear Tc 2 O 3 4+ . All contain a terminal Tc=O bond, and are spin-paired diamagnetic compounds.
