Antifungal Chalcones and New Caffeic Acid Esters from Zuccagnia punctata Acting against Soybean Infecting Fungi
Laura Svetaz,Alejandro Tapia,Silvia N. Lopez,Ricardo L. E. Furlan,Elisa M. Petenatti,Rosanna Pioli,Guillermo Schmeda-Hirschmann,S. Zacchino +7 more
TL;DR: Assay guided fractionation led to the isolation of two chalcones, one flavanone and a new caffeoyl ester derivative as the compounds responsible for the antifungal activity of Zuccagnia punctata.
Journal ArticleDOI
Argentinean Propolis from Zuccagnia punctata Cav. (Caesalpinieae) Exudates: Phytochemical Characterization and Antifungal Activity
María Belén Agüero,Mariela González,Beatriz Lima,Laura Svetaz,Marianela Sánchez,Susana Zacchino,Gabriela Egly Feresin,Guillermo Schmeda-Hirschmann,Jorge Alejandro Palermo,Daniel Alberto Wunderlin,Alejandro Tapia +10 more
TL;DR: This is the first study matching the chemical profile of Z. punctata Cav.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antimicrobial activity of plants used in traditional medicine of San Juan province, Argentine
TL;DR: Eighteen extracts from Acaena magellanica, Baccharis grisebachii, Ephedra breana, Oxalis erythrorhiza, Pachylaena atriplicifolia and Satureja parvifolia were assessed for antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi with the agar dilution method and the hexane (H) and dichloromethane (DCM) extracts showed the broadest spectrum of action against fungi.
Journal ArticleDOI
Composition and Anti-insect Activity of Essential Oils from Tagetes L. Species (Asteraceae, Helenieae) on Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann and Triatoma infestans Klug
Sandra López,María L. López,Liliana Aragón,María L. Tereschuk,Alberto C. Slanis,Gabriela Egly Feresin,Julio Alberto Zygadlo,Alejandro Tapia +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that compositions of essential oils influence their insecticidal and olfactory properties, and the essential oils from Tagetes species show an important potential as infochemical agents on insects' behaviors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Main flavonoids, DPPH activity, and metal content allow determination of the geographical origin of propolis from the Province of San Juan (Argentina).
Beatriz Lima,Alejandro Tapia,Lorena Luna,Maria Paula Fabani,Guillermo Schmeda-Hirschmann,Natalia S. Podio,Daniel Alberto Wunderlin,Gabriela Egly Feresin +7 more
TL;DR: The chemical characterization as well as the assessment of geographical origin of propolis from several areas of the Provincia de San Juan (Argentina) is reported in this article.
