Survey on fuzzy TOPSIS state-of-the-art between 2007 and 2017

This study aims at analyzing the performance results of the European policies in energy investment within an integrated multidimensional quality measurement approach. For this purpose, the quality function deployment is adopted to the multidimensional performance measurement based on the balanced scorecard method. The dimensions and criteria of customer and technical requirements, process design, and performance measurement are defined to measure each process of QFD (Quality Function Deployment) for the energy investment policies with the supported literature. Within this context, the customer and technical requirements for energy investment policies are evaluated by considering the fuzzy decision matrix in the first process of the QFD and then, the technical requirements are used to rank the new service/product process of the energy investments in the second process of QFD. The balanced scorecard perspectives and the key factors are defined to rank the European energy investment policies respectively. Accordingly, the possible priorities of the European energy investment policies are discussed to conduct the most remarkable and efficient energy operations and the relevant results to contribute the improvement of energy sector are highlighted.

Balanced scorecard-based analysis about European energy investment policies: A hybrid hesitant fuzzy decision-making approach with Quality Function Deployment

Pakistan has long relied on fossil fuels for electricity generation. This is despite the fact that the country is blessed with enormous renewable energy (RE) resources, which can significantly diversify the fuel mix for electricity generation. In this study, various renewable resources of Pakistan—solar, hydro, biomass, wind, and geothermal energy—are analyzed by using an integrated Delphi-analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (F-TOPSIS)-based methodology. In the first phase, the Delphi method was employed to define and select the most important criteria for the selection of RE resources. This process identified four main criteria, i.e., economic, environmental, technical, and socio-political aspects, which are further supplemented by 20 sub-criteria. AHP is later used to obtain the weights of each criterion and the sub-criteria of the decision model. The results of this study reveal wind energy as the most feasible RE resource for electricity generation followed by hydropower, solar, biomass, and geothermal energy. The sensitivity analysis of the decision model results shows that the results of this study are significant, reliable, and robust. The study provides important insights related to the prioritizing of RE resources for electricity generation and can be used to undertake policy decisions toward sustainable energy planning in Pakistan.

Abstract Portfolio optimization, one of the most rapidly growing field of modern finance, is selection process, by which investor chooses the proportion of different securities and other assets to held. This paper studies the influence of membership function’s shape on the result of fuzzy portfolio optimization and focused on portfolio selection problem based on credibility measure. Four different shapes of the membership function are examined in the context of the most popular optimization problems: mean-variance, mean-semivariance, entropy minimization, value-at-risk minimization. The analysis takes into account both: the study of necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of extremes, as well as the statistical inference about the differences based on simulation.

Triggers and Obstacles to the Development of the FinTech Sector in Poland

This paper presents fuzzy extensions of the Black-Litterman portfolio selection model. Black and Litterman identified two sources of information about expected returns and combined these two sources of information into one expected return formula. The first source of information is the expected returns that follow from the Capital Asset Pricing Model and thus should hold if the market is in equilibrium. The second source of information is comprised of the views held by investors. The presented extension, owing to the use of fuzzy random variables, includes two elements that are important from the point of view of practice: linguistic information and the views of multiple experts. The paper introduces the model extension step-by-step and presents an empirical example.
