Effect of temperature and nitrogen concentration on the growth and lipid content of nannochloropsis oculata and chlorella vulgaris for biodiesel production

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of temperature and nitrogen concentration on the lipid content of Nannochloropsis oculata and Chlorella vulgaris in view of their possible utilization as novel raw materials for biodiesel production were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extraction of phenolics from Vitis vinifera wastes using non-conventional techniques

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated several non-conventional extraction methods vs classic solid-liquid extraction (SLE) to obtain phenolic compounds from grape seeds and skins, and compared SLE, ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), microwave assisted extraction (MAE), and high pressure and temperature extraction (HPTE) in terms of extraction yield and antioxidant power of the extract.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of pulsed electric fields and high pressure homogenization on the aqueous extraction of intracellular compounds from the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris

TL;DR: Results suggest that, in a multi-stage biorefinery, PEF could represent a suitable cell disruption method for the selective recovery of small-sized cytoplasmic compounds, while HPH should be placed at the end the cascade of operations allowing the recovery of high molecular weight intracellular components.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microencapsulation of phenolic compounds from olive pomace using spray drying: A study of operative parameters

TL;DR: In this paper, polyphenols from olive pomace were extracted with a high pressure-high temperature agitated reactor and for the first time encapsulated by spray drying, using maltodextrin as coating agent at different concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Valorization of olive oil solid waste using high pressure―high temperature reactor

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of extraction time and temperature on phenolics recovery from olive pomace was studied, varying time from 15 to 120 min and temperature from 100 to 180°C, using a high pressure-high temperature agitated reactor under a modified atmosphere.
