Graphene nanocomposite for biomedical applications: fabrication, antimicrobial and cytotoxic investigations

TL;DR: In this article, a nanocomposite containing poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) and graphene (G) in solutions and thin films is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Developments in alternative treatments for organophosphate poisoning.

TL;DR: The research undertaken in recent years that has investigated new supplementary drug options for OP treatment and support therapy is discussed, including progress in the development of enzymatic prophylaxis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection and location of OP-degrading activity: A model to integrate education and research.

TL;DR: Using this collection of OP-degrading microorganisms, undergraduate students have evaluated their potential for enhancing the removal of harmful organophosphates and their toxic metabolites from contaminated agricultural soil and adjacent bodies of water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization and comparison of putative Stenotrophomonas maltophilia methyl parathion hydrolases

TL;DR: Results suggest that S. maltophilia MBL enzymes are currently insufficient for broad-spectrum hydrolysis of phosphorothioate insecticides, and future studies will seek to elucidate their catalytic efficiency against other notable phosphotriester oxons, including chlorpyrifos oxon, and malaoxon.
