Journal ArticleDOI

Developing a biopolymeric chitosan supported Schiff-base and Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes and biological evaluation as pro-drug

TL;DR: Through flow cytometry, it is demonstrated that all compounds were efficient in inducing apoptosis effect in K562 and MG63 cell lines except Schiff base- chitosan inK562 cell lines.
Journal ArticleDOI

DFT studies and antioxidant activity of Schiff base metal complexes of 2-aminopyridine. Crystal structures of cobalt(II) and zinc(II) complexes

TL;DR: In this article, metal(II) complexes of cobalt, copper, nickel, zinc, and zinc with Schiff base derived from 2-aminopyridine were synthesized and characterized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mesolimbic dopamine system and its modulation by vitamin D in a chronic mild stress model of depression in the rat.

TL;DR: It is suggested that similar to the antidepressant, fluoxetine, regular vitamin‐D treatment can improve ‘anhedonia‐like symptoms’ in rats subjected to CMS, probably by regulating the effect of dopamine‐related actions in the NAc.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural characterization and electrochemical studies of Co(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) Schiff base complexes derived from 2-(( E )-(2-methoxyphenylimino)methyl)-4-bromophenol; Evaluation of antioxidant and antibacterial properties

TL;DR: In this paper, four transition-metal complexes [CoII(L)2] (1), [ZnII (L) 2] (2), [NiII[L] 2 ] (3) and [CuII[C] 2] [4] (4) have been synthesized from metal salts with tridentate Schiff base ligand (HL = 2-((E)-(2-methoxyphenylimino)methyl)-4-bromophenol).
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, crystal structures and antibacterial studies of oxidovanadium(IV) complexes of salen-type Schiff base ligands derived from meso-1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethylenediamine

TL;DR: A series of new derivatives and previously reported Schiff base ligands and their oxidovanadium(IV) complexes were synthesized, characterized and tested as potential antibacterial agents against four human pathogenic bacteria.
