Systemic Exercise-Induced Hypoalgesia Following Isometric Exercise Reduces Conditioned Pain Modulation.
TL;DR: Isometric exercise decreased CPM in individuals who reported systemic EIH, suggesting activation of shared mechanisms between CPM and systemic EiH responses and may improve the understanding of increased pain after exercise in patients with chronic pain and potentially attenuated CPM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lean mass mediates the relation between temporal summation of pain and sex in young healthy adults.
TL;DR: It is suggested that lean mass is a contributing factor to the sex differences in TS and future studies should investigate whether interventions that increase lean mass have a positive effect on TS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Physical activity and pain catastrophizing predict temporal summation of mechanical pain
Journal ArticleDOI
Impaired conditioned pain modulation was restored after a single exercise session in individuals with and without fibromyalgia
TL;DR: The results support the use of isometric exercise when initiating an exercise program especially for individuals with impaired CPM and in persons with low CPM, irrespective of health status.
Journal ArticleDOI
LB898 Validation of the paindetect questionnaire in hidradenitis suppurativa using quantitative sensory testing
Philippe Speck,Ali M. Alsouhibani,Drianna Mustin,M. Siira,H. Li,D. Harper,Lauren A.V. Orenstein +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , 20 patients with Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) underwent Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) at a control site on the dorsal hand and a painful HS lesion.
