KRAS Mutation Is an Important Predictor of Resistance to Therapy with Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors in Non–Small-Cell Lung Cancer
Erminia Massarelli,Marileila Varella-Garcia,Ximing Tang,Ana Carolina Xavier,Natalie C. Ozburn,Diane D. Liu,Benjamin N. Bekele,Roy S. Herbst,Ignacio I. Wistuba +8 more
TL;DR: KRAS mutation should be included as indicator of resistance in the panel of markers used to predict response to EGFR-TKIs in NSCLC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Abnormalities in the Pathogenesis and Progression of Lung Adenocarcinomas
Ximing Tang,Marileila Varella-Garcia,Ana Carolina Xavier,Erminia Massarelli,Natalie C. Ozburn,Cesar A. Moran,Ignacio I. Wistuba +6 more
TL;DR: EGFR mutations and protein overexpression are early phenomena in the pathogenesis of lung adenocarcinoma and that EGFR mutation precedes an increase in gene copy number, and in EGFR-mutant adenoprevention metastases, the higher levels of EGFR overexposure and more homogeneously distributed high gene copy numbers suggest tumor progression.
