Journal ArticleDOI
Early high calcium and phosphorus intake by parenteral nutrition prevents short-term bone strength decline in preterm infants.
Luís Pereira-da-Silva,Ana Costa,Laura Pereira,Ana-Filipa Filipe,Daniel Virella,E Leal,Ana-Catarina Moreira,Maria Luiza Correa da Camara Rosa,Lino Mendes,Micaela Serelha +9 more
TL;DR: Early assigned parenteral intake of Ca 75 mg ·kg−1 · day−1 and P 44 mg · kg−1· day −1 significantly contributed to preventing short-term bone strength decline in preterm infants.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids intake during pregnancy on adiposity of healthy full-term offspring at birth.
Luís Pereira-da-Silva,C Cabo,Ana-Catarina Moreira,Ana Luísa Papoila,Daniel Virella,Rute Neves,Kayla M. Bridges,Gonçalo Cordeiro-Ferreira +7 more
TL;DR: Using a reliable validated method to assess body composition, adjusted positive associations between maternal docosahexaenoic acid intake and birth size in male offspring and between n-6:n-3 LCPUFA ratio intake and adiposity in female offspring were found, suggesting that maternal LC PUFA intake strongly influences fetal body composition.
