Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of a slope endangered by rainfall-induced landslides using 3D resistivity tomography and geotechnical testing

TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution 2D and 3D electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) was used to derive a detailed subsurface image, which was verified by direct penetration tests, boreholes and laboratory analysis of soil samples with respect to grain size distribution and plasticity.
Journal ArticleDOI

A long-term field study for the investigation of rainfall-induced landslides

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-year monitoring experiment has been conducted on a slope in shallow weathered soils overlying sandstone bedrock in Toessegg, Switzerland, where water balance and suctions were measured, together with the meteorological inputs, in preparation for predicting environmental effects on slope stability.
Journal Article

Lessons learnt from field tests in some potentially unstable slopes in Switzerland

TL;DR: In this paper, a small slip was released in two of these cases and the triggering factors have been investigated and discussed in this contribution, which reveals that the mode of inslope drainage influences the way in which the ground saturates and hence the volume of the potentially unstable ground.
