An intelligent automated assistant system engages with the user in an integrated, conversational manner using natural language dialog, and invokes external services when appropriate to obtain information or perform various actions. The system can be implemented using any of a number of different platforms, such as the web, email, smartphone, and the like, or any combination thereof. In one embodiment, the system is based on sets of interrelated domains and tasks, and employs additional functionally powered by external services with which the system can interact.

A method and system processes data in a distributed computing system to survive an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack. The computing system has proximal select content (SC) data stores and geographically distributed distal data stores, all with respective access controls. The data input or put through the computing system is processed to obtain the SC and other associated content. The process then extracts and stores such content in the proximal SC data stores and geographically distributed distal SC data stores. The system further processes data to geographically distribute the data with data processes including: copy, extract, archive, distribute, and a copy-extract-archive and distribute process with a sequential and supplemental data destruction process. In this manner, the data input is distributed or spread out over the geographically distributed distal SC data stores. The system and method permits reconstruction of the processed data only in the presence of a respective access control.

A mobile terminal and a method of controlling a mobile terminal may be provided. The mobile terminal may include a display to display one of a plurality of wallpapers including at least one icon; and a controller to display at least two of the plurality of wallpapers and a plurality of preview screens corresponding to the plurality of wallpapers on the display upon reception of an input of moving at least one icon, moving of the at least one icon being displayed on the displayed wallpapers and preview screens. The mobile terminal can display a movement of icon being displayed on the displayed wallpapers and preview screens. Accordingly, a user may intuitively recognize a location of icon and effectively move a location of icon.

The invention is a method for textual searching of text-based databases including databases of compiled internet content, scientific literature, abstracts for books and articles, newspapers, journals, and the like. Specifically, the algorithm supports searches using full-text or webpage as query and keyword searches allowing multiple entries and an information-content based ranking system (Shannon Information score) that uses p-values to represent the likelihood that a hit is due to random matches. Additionally, users can specify the parameters that determine hits and their ranking with scoring based on phrase matches and sentence similarities.

A mobile terminal and a control method thereof, which can obtain an image, are provided. A mobile terminal (100) includes a camera unit (121), a pictogram extraction unit (182) and a controller (180). The camera unit (121) obtains image information corresponding to at least one of a still image and a moving image. The pictogram extraction unit (182) extracts at least one pictogram from the obtained image information. The controller (180) detects information related to the extracted pictogram, and displays the detected information to be overlapped with the obtained image information. In the mobile terminal, the controller (180) includes, as the detected information, at least one of previously recorded information and currently searched information related to the extracted pictogram.

Systems and methods, including user interfaces, are provided for implementing searches using contextual information associated with a Web page (or other document) that a user is viewing when a query is entered. The page includes a contextual search interface that has an associated context vector representing content of the page. Context-specific transaction proposals are automatically generated and presented to a user who expresses interest in a particular topic. A user viewing a World Wide Web page or other content item activates an interface to indicate that he or she is interested in additional information related to the subject of the page. A context vector or other representation of the content of the page being viewed is transmitted to an information server, which identifies possible transactions related to the content and proposes one or more of these transactions to the user. Transaction proposals can be presented together with a contextual search interface that allows the user to submit zero or more search terms together with the context vector as a search query.
