Correction of tree ring stable carbon isotope chronologies for changes in the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a correction procedure that attempts to calculate the δ13C values that would have been obtained under pre-industrial conditions using nonlinear regression, but the magnitude of the adjustment made is restricted by two logical constraints based on the physiological response of trees.

Correction of tree ring stable carbon isotope chronologies for changes in the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere , Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta 73, 1539-1547

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a correction procedure that attempts to calculate the δ13C values that would have been obtained under pre-industrial conditions using nonlinear regression, but the magnitude of the adjustment made is restricted by two logical constraints based on the physiological response of trees.
Journal ArticleDOI

A 1200-year multiproxy record of tree growth and summer temperature at the northern pine forest limit of Europe

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combined nine tree growth proxies from four sites, from the west coast of Norway to the Kola Peninsula of NW Russia, providing a well replicated (> 100 annual measurements per year) mean index of tree growth over the last 1200 years that represents the growth of much of the northern pine timberline forests of northern Fennoscandia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reconstruction of summer temperatures from tree-rings of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) in coastal northern Norway

TL;DR: In this paper, tree-ring chronologies from Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) were constructed at Forfjorddalen in the Vesteralen archipelago (AD 1358-1992), Stonglandseidet o...
Journal ArticleDOI

A 500-year record of summer near-ground solar radiation from tree-ring stable carbon isotopes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used tree-ring stable carbon isotope ratios (d13C) in environments of low moisture stress to calibrate the temperature and cloud cover of pine trees in NW Norway.
