Accelerator configuration for polarized proton-antiproton physics at FAIR

TL;DR: The HESR at FAIR as mentioned in this paper accelerates and stores unpolarized antiprotons in the momentum range from 1.5 to 15 Ge V/c. In this paper required modifications and extensions of the accelerator layout are discussed and luminosity estimates presented.

QCD physics with polarized antiprotons at GSI

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarize the outcome of various working group meetings within the PAX collaboration, and describe the overall machine setup at the HESR, along with the associated PAX experimental program.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

AGS Lattice Changes to Eliminate Weak Intrinsic Resonances

TL;DR: In this article, the suppression of weak intrinsic spin resonances in the AGS was explored using a family of 12 quadrupoles in the 15 th lattice straight section of each superperiod.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental test of the new analytic matrix formalism for spin dynamics

TL;DR: In this paper, Chao's proposed matrix formalism for describing the spin dynamics due to a single spin resonance was tested on a deuteron beam stored in COSY, by sweeping an rf dipole's frequency through 200 Hz, while varying the distance from the sweep's end frequency to an Rf induced spin resonance's central frequency.
