Journal ArticleDOI
Chain flexibility versus molecular entanglement response to rubbing deformation in designing poly(oxadiazole-naphthylimide)s as liquid crystal orientation layers
TL;DR: In this paper, four poly(oxadiazole-imide)s containing naphthalene rings are investigated with respect to their rheological properties to establish the optimal processing conditions from solution phase to film state for liquid crystal orientation purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphological effects on transparency and absorption edges of some semi-alicyclic polyimides
TL;DR: In this article, a semi-alicyclic polyimides based on epiclon and three aromatic diamines are investigated and the ellipsometry data reveal that the reduced polarizability provided by the alicyclics dianhydride moieties leads to polyimide with low refractive index, ranging from 1.64 to 1.72.
Journal ArticleDOI
New polyimide-based porous crosslinked beads by suspension polymerization: physical and chemical factors affecting their morphology
Camelia Hulubei,Cristina Doina Vlad,Iuliana Stoica,Dumitru Popovici,Gabriela Lisa,Simona-Luminita Nica,Andreea Irina Barzic +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a new partial-alicyclic copolyimide based on bicyclo [2.2] oct-7-ene-2,3,5,6-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BOCA) is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasma Modification of Surface Wettability and Morphology for Optimization of the Interactions Involved in Blood Constituents Spreading on Some Novel Copolyimide Films
Dumitru Popovici,Andreea Irina Barzic,Iuliana Stoica,Maria Butnaru,Ghiocel Emil Ioanid,Stelian Vlad,Camelia Hulubei,Maria Bruma +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, copolyimides based on 3,3′,4,4′-benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride, 4, 4′-diaminodiphenylmethane (DDM) and 1,6-Diaminohexane (DAH) were synthesized.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of rubbing fabric type on surface roughness and tribological properties of some semi-alicyclic polyimides evaluated from atomic force measurements
TL;DR: In this paper, the morphology of polyimides (PI) prepared from a flexible and alicyclic dianhydride, in combination with aromatic diamines was investigated in detail before and after rubbing with two types of fabric: cotton velvet (CV) and cellulose diacetate velvet (CDV).
