Journal ArticleDOI
Pollination in a cryptically dioecious plant Decaspermum parviflorum (Lam.) A. J. Scott (Myrtaceae) by pollen‐collecting bees in Sulawesi, Indonesia
Peter G. Kevan,Andrew J. Lack +1 more
TL;DR: The species displays many features typical of dioecious tropical plants with the unusual feature of pollen being the main food reward for pollinators, and was pollinated effectively in Sulawesi.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the reproductive biology of a canopy tree, Syzygium syzygioides (Myrtaceae), in a rain forest in Sulawesi, Indonesia
Andrew J. Lack,Peter G. Kevan +1 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Allele frequencies, genetic relationships and heterozygosity in Polygala vulgaris populations from contrasting habitats in southern Britain.
Andrew J. Lack,Q. O. N. Kay +1 more
TL;DR: Examination of several enzyme systems, using starch gel electrophoresis, showed that all enzyme loci appeared to have been duplicated, probably owing to the fact that P. vulgaris is a tctraploid in a genus which has primarily diploid members in Europe.
Journal ArticleDOI
The reproductive biology of a distylous tree, Sarcotheca celebica (Oxalidaceae) in Sulawesi, Indonesia
Andrew J. Lack,Peter G. Kevan +1 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that S. celebica may represent an intermediate stage in the evolution of dioecy from distyly, with the short–styled flowers making their major genetic contribution through pollen and long–styling flowers through ovules.
