Patent
Optical quality diamond material
Herman Philip Godfried,Geoffrey Alan Scarsbrook,Daniel J. Twitchen,Evert Pieter Houwman,Wilhelmus Gertruda Maria Nelissen,Andrew John Whitehead,Clive Edward Hall,Philip Maurice Martineau +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a CVD single crystal diamond material suitable for use in, or as, an optical device or element is presented, which is suitable for a wide range of optical applications such as, for example, optical windows, laser windows, optical reflectors, optical refractors and gratings, and etalons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Infrared properties of chemical-vapor deposition polycrystalline diamond windows.
Paolo Dore,Alessandro Nucara,Daniele Cannavò,Gianluca De Marzi,Paolo Calvani,Augusto Marcelli,Ricardo Simon Sussmann,Andrew John Whitehead,Carlton N. Dodge,Astrid J. Krehan,Hans J. Peters +10 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a window with a large wedge angle, close to 1 degrees, does not produce appreciable interference fringes and this result is of considerable relevance to the use of CVD diamond windows in spectroscopic applications for which fringe suppression is a major requirement.
Patent
Single crystal diamond prepared by cvd
Geoffrey Alan Scarsbrook,Philip Maurice Martineau,John Lloyd Collins,Ricardo Simon Sussmann,Bärbel Susanne Cha Dorn,Andrew John Whitehead,Daniel J. Twitchen +6 more
TL;DR: A single crystal diamond prepared by CVD and having one or more electronic characteristics, making the diamond suitable for electronic applications has been described in this article, where a method of making the single crystal CVD diamond is presented.
Patent
Thick single crystal diamond layer method for making it and gemstones produced from the layer
Geoffrey Alan Scarsbrook,Philip Maurice Martineau,Baerbel Susanne Charlotte Dorn,Andrew Michael Cooper,John Lloyd Collins,Andrew John Whitehead,Daniel J. Twitchen +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a method of homoepitaxial growth of the diamond layer on a low defect density substrate in an atmosphere containing less than 300ppb nitrogen is described.
Patent
Boron doped diamond
Geoffrey Alan Scarsbrook,Philip Maurice Martineau,Daniel J. Twitchen,Andrew John Whitehead,Michael Andrew Cooper,Baerbel Susanne Charlotte Dorn +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a layer of single crystal boron doped diamond produced by CVD and having a total borone concentration which is uniform is defined, where the layer is formed from a single growth sector, or has a thickness exceeding 100m, or a volume exceeding 1 mm3.
