Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of wavelet transform modulus maxima and multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis of heart rate in patients with systolic dysfunction of left ventricle.
Rafal Galaska,Danuta Makowiec,Aleksandra Dudkowska,Andrzej Koprowski,Krzysztof Chlebus,Joanna Wdowczyk-Szulc,Andrzej Rynkiewicz +6 more
TL;DR: The purpose of this study was to compare multifractal parameters of heart rate calculated using both methods in a group of 90 patients with reduced left ventricular systolic function and in a groups of 39 healthy persons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of preload reduction by hemodialysis on myocardial ultrasonic characterization, left atrial volume, and Doppler tissue imaging in patients with end-stage renal disease.
Marcin Fijałkowski,Andrzej Koprowski,Marcin Gruchała,Rafal Galaska,Alicja Debska-Slizien,Jan Rogowski,Bolesław Rutkowski,Andrzej Rynkiewicz +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that hemodialysis leads to decrease of CVIBS in ESRD patients and that early mitral annulus velocity (Em) could be preload independent marker of left ventricular diastolic function in E SRD patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of left ventricular diastolic heart failure: is it only blood pressure control?
TL;DR: The care of these patients should be redirected toward screening and treatment of crucial comorbidities such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, obesity, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recanalization of isolated chronic total occlusions in patients with stable angina
Miłosz Jaguszewski,Radosław Targoński,Marcin Fijałkowski,Emilia Masiewicz,Witold Dubaniewicz,Christian Templin,Andrzej Koprowski,Dariusz Ciećwierz,Brahmajee K. Nallamothu,Andrzej Rynkiewicz +9 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that successful PCI of an isolated CTO improves symptom burden, but is not associated with MACE at 6 or 24 months.
Journal ArticleDOI
Left ventricular size, mass and function in relation to angiotensin-converting enzyme gene and angiotensin-II type 1 receptor gene polymorphisms in patients with coronary artery disease.
Marcin Gruchała,Dariusz Ciećwierz,Karolina Ochman,Bartosz Wasag,Andrzej Koprowski,Andrzej Wojtowicz,Witold Dubaniewicz,Radosław Targoński,Wojciech Sobiczewski,Adam Grzybowski,Piotr Romanowski,Janusz Limon,Andrzej Rynkiewicz +12 more
TL;DR: This study does not support the role of the ACE I/D and AT1R A1166C polymorphisms in the determination of the left ventricular size and performance in patients with significant coronary atherosclerosis, but indicates that the influence of polymorphisms may be present in specific patient populations.
