Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between the organization of the PSII supercomplex and the functions of the photosynthetic apparatus
Emilia L. Apostolova,Anelia G. Dobrikova,Pavlina I. Ivanova,Ivana Petkanchin,Stefka G. Taneva +4 more
TL;DR: There is a strict correlation between the degree of LHCII oligomerization in the investigated pea mutants and the ratio of functionally active PS II alpha to PS II beta centers, while in thylakoid membranes without oligomeric structure of L HCII (Chlorina f2 barley mutant) the PS IIalpha centers are not registered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural rearrangements in chloroplast thylakoid membranes revealed by differential scanning calorimetry and circular dichroism spectroscopy. Thermo-optic effect.
Anelia G. Dobrikova,Zsuzsanna Várkonyi,Sashka Krumova,Sashka Krumova,László Kovács,Georgi Kostov,Svetla Todinova,Mira Busheva,Stefka G. Taneva,Gyözö Garab +9 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that thermo-optical structural reorganizations provide a structural flexibility, which is proportional to the intensity of the excess excitation, while for their localized nature, the structural stability of the system can be retained.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cadmium toxicity in Salvia sclarea L.: An integrative response of element uptake, oxidative stress markers, leaf structure and photosynthesis.
Anelia G. Dobrikova,Emilia L. Apostolova,Anetta Hanć,Ekaterina Yotsova,Preslava Borisova,Ilektra Sperdouli,Ioannis-Dimosthenis S. Adamakis,Michael Moustakas +7 more
TL;DR: The effect of Cd only treatment on the function of the photosynthetic apparatus of Salvia sclarea L. (clary sage) has not yet been studied in detail as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Action and target sites of nitric oxide in chloroplasts.
Amarendra Narayan Misra,Radka Vladkova,Ranjeet Singh,Meena Misra,Anelia G. Dobrikova,Emilia L. Apostolova +5 more
TL;DR: The influence of NO-induced changes in the photosynthetic apparatus on its functions and sensitivity to stress factors are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
The wheat mutant DELLA-encoding gene (Rht-B1c) affects plant photosynthetic responses to cadmium stress.
TL;DR: A role for the Rht-B1c-encoded DELLA proteins in protective mechanisms and tolerance of the photosynthetic apparatus in wheat plants exposed to heavy metals stress is suggested.
