An Intervention Programme to Facilitate the Preschool Transition in Mexico

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the efficacy of an intervention program to facilitate the transition from preschool to primary school in Mexico City, and found evidence of the positive impact of the preschool transition-intervention program on children's cognitive, social and fine motor skills, as well as in the frequency with which preschool teachers and the teaching assistants used transition practices that promote literacy in preparation for the first grade of primary school.

Preschool transition in Mexico: Exploring teachers' perceptions and practices

TL;DR: The authors explored the perceptions of preschool and first grade teachers regarding preschool to first grade transition practices in public schools in Mexico City and found that teachers used some practices moderately to promote school-home links but school-school links are not used.

Children's Problems During the Preschool Transition: Views of Mexican Teachers

TL;DR: In this paper, a sample of 30 Mexican teachers from preschool and first grade was recruited to examine common problems children face during the transition from preschool to primary school, and found that teachers were somewhat to very concerned about this transition, while primary school teachers reported the same problems in addition to children showing difficulty taking turns.
