Journal ArticleDOI
Germline RECQL mutations are associated with breast cancer susceptibility
Cezary Cybulski,Jian Carrot-Zhang,Wojciech Kluźniak,Barbara Rivera,Aniruddh Kashyap,Dominika Wokołorczyk,Sylvie Giroux,Javad Nadaf,Nancy Hamel,Shiyu Zhang,Tomasz Huzarski,Jacek Gronwald,Tomasz Byrski,Marek Szwiec,Anna Jakubowska,Helena Rudnicka,Marcin Lener,Bartłomiej Masojć,Patrica N Tonin,François Rousseau,Bohdan Górski,Tadeusz Dębniak,Jacek Majewski,Jan Lubinski,William D. Foulkes,Steven A. Narod,Mohammad R. Akbari +26 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that RECQL is a breast cancer susceptibility gene implicated in resolving stalled DNA replication forks to prevent double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) breaks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical outcomes in women with breast cancer and a PALB2 mutation: a prospective cohort analysis
Cezary Cybulski,Wojciech Kluźniak,Tomasz Huzarski,Dominika Wokołorczyk,Aniruddh Kashyap,Anna Jakubowska,Marek Szwiec,Tomasz Byrski,Tadeusz Dębniak,Bohdan Górski,Victoria Sopik,Mohammad R. Akbari,Ping Sun,Jacek Gronwald,Steven A. Narod,Jan Lubinski +15 more
TL;DR: Women with a PALB2 mutation face an increased risk of breast cancer and might be at a higher risk of death from breast cancer compared with non-carriers and increased surveillance should be offered to unaffected women who carry a PALb2 mutation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanisms of acquired tumor drug resistance.
TL;DR: Use of combinations of cancer drugs, sequential therapy, adaptive therapy and topical ablation of drug-resistant malignant lumps may help to prolong the time to treatment failure.
Journal ArticleDOI
An inherited NBN mutation is associated with poor prognosis prostate cancer.
Cezary Cybulski,Dominika Wokołorczyk,Wojciech Kluźniak,Anna Jakubowska,Bohdan Górski,Jacek Gronwald,Tomasz Huzarski,Aniruddh Kashyap,Tomasz Byrski,Tadeusz Dębniak,Adam Gołąb,Bartłomiej Gliniewicz,Andrzej Sikorski,Jerzy Świtała,Tomasz Borkowski,Andrzej Borkowski,Andrzej Antczak,Ł Wojnar,Jacek Przybyła,Marek Sosnowski,Bartosz Małkiewicz,Romuald Zdrojowy,Paulina Sikorska-Radek,Józef Matych,Jacek Wilkosz,Waldemar Różański,Jacek Kiś,Krzysztof Bar,Piotr Bryniarski,Andrzej Paradysz,Konrad Jersak,Jerzy Niemirowicz,Piotr Słupski,Piotr Jarzemski,Michał A. Skrzypczyk,Jakub Dobruch,Pawel Domagala,Steven A. Narod,Jan Lubinski +38 more
TL;DR: A mutation in NBS1 predisposes to aggressive prostate cancer, and these data are relevant to the prospect of adapting personalised medicine to prostate cancer prevention and treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mutations predisposing to breast cancer in 12 candidate genes in breast cancer patients from Poland.
Cezary Cybulski,Jan Lubinski,Dominika Wokołorczyk,W. Kuźniak,Aniruddh Kashyap,Victoria Sopik,Tomasz Huzarski,Jacek Gronwald,Tomasz Byrski,Marek Szwiec,Anna Jakubowska,Bohdan Górski,Tadeusz Dębniak,Steven A. Narod,Steven A. Narod,Mohammad R. Akbari,Mohammad R. Akbari +16 more
TL;DR: Polish women with familial breast cancer who are negative for founder mutations in BRCA1, CHEK2 and NBS1 should be fully screened for mutations in H2O, and the PALB2 founder mutation c.509_519delGA should be included in the panel of Polish founder mutations.
