Journal ArticleDOI

Airway obstruction in sheep with burn and smoke inhalation injuries.

TL;DR: Results suggest that strategies to remove or decrease formation of upper airway obstructive material may reduce its deposition into small airways and parenchyma and may improve respiratory function in victims of smoke inhalation injury.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morphologic characteristics of varicose veins: possible role of metalloproteinases

TL;DR: There are distinct differences in the structural architecture and localization of MMP expression in normal and varicose veins, and changes observed are not sufficiently definitive to enable a causal relationship, but they do suggest a possible mechanism for the alterations in matrix composition observed between normal andvaricosities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase attenuates acute lung injury in an ovine model of sepsis.

TL;DR: INO-1001 treatment reduced pulmonary histological injury and attenuated poly (ADP-ribose) accumulation in the lung and inhibition of PARP improved the ALI after smoke inhalation and pneumonia.
