Journal ArticleDOI

Synthetic applications of di-tert-butoxyethyne, II: New syntheses of squaric, semisquaric and croconic acids

TL;DR: In this paper, the semisquaric acid skeleton of the natural mycotoxin "moniliformin" was described, starting from di- tert butoxyethyne, and the croconic acid system, via (η-tetra- tert -butoxycyclopentadienone)(η -cyclopentadiyl)cobalt, was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diisopropoxy- and di-tert-butoxyethyne : Stable acetylene diethers

TL;DR: The rather stable acetylene diethers diisopropoxy-and di-t-butoxyethyne are prepared either from glyoxal or dioxane as mentioned in this paper, and the corresponding hexacarbonyl dicobalt complexes are reported
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of croconic and hydrocroconic acids from di-t-butoxyethyne. Electrochemical demetallation of a cyclopentadienyl organocobalt complex

TL;DR: The electrochemical demetallation of (η-tetra-t-butoxycyclopentadienone)(ηcyclopentadié)cobalt, readily available from di-tbutoxyethyne leads to tetra-to-butoxideclopentadiene which can be converted into hydrocroconic acid by trifluoroacetic acid hydrolysis and then croconic acids by oxidation in basic medium as discussed by the authors.
Reference EntryDOI

Dialkoxyacetylenes: di‐tert‐butoxyethyne, A Valuable Synthetic Intermediate

TL;DR: For example, Dialkoxyacetylenes: di-tert-butoxyethyne, a valuable synthetic intermediate as mentioned in this paper, is a useful intermediate intermediate for di-TERT butoxyethynes.
