Journal ArticleDOI
Raman spectroscopy of proteins: a review
Anna Rygula,Katarzyna Majzner,Katarzyna M. Marzec,Agnieszka Kaczor,Marta Pilarczyk,Malgorzata Baranska +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, 26 proteins of different structure, function and properties were investigated by Raman spectroscopy with 488, 532 and 1064 nm laser lines, and the excitation lines were chosen in NIR and Vis range as the most common and to show the difference due to normal and resonance effect, sometimes accompanied by the fluorescence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Visualization of the biochemical markers of atherosclerotic plaque with the use of Raman, IR and AFM.
Katarzyna M. Marzec,Tomasz P. Wrobel,Anna Rygula,Edyta Maslak,Agnieszka Jasztal,Andrzej Fedorowicz,Stefan Chlopicki,Stefan Chlopicki,Malgorzata Baranska +8 more
TL;DR: This is the first work which demonstrates that co‐localized measurement of atherosclerotic plaque with Raman, IR and AFM imaging provides a comprehensive insight into the biochemical markers of atheosclerotic plaques, and can be used as an integrated approach to assess vulnerability of the plaque.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-resolution Raman imaging reveals spatial location of heme oxidation sites in single red blood cells of dried smears
Katarzyna M. Marzec,Anna Rygula,Bayden R. Wood,Stefan Chlopicki,Stefan Chlopicki,Malgorzata Baranska,Malgorzata Baranska +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, Ramaman confocal microscopy with 488 nm excitation wavelength supported with atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning near-field optical microscopy and UV-Vis spectrometry was used to investigate air-dried erythrocytes (red blood cells, RBCs) in whole human blood smears.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endothelium in spots--high-content imaging of lipid rafts clusters in db/db mice.
Marta Pilarczyk,Lukasz Mateuszuk,Anna Rygula,Mariusz Kepczynski,Stefan Chlopicki,Malgorzata Baranska,Agnieszka Kaczor +6 more
TL;DR: Observation of pathology-promoted LRs confirms that the cellular increase of lipid content results in clustering of LRs, which leads to the formation of assemblies with diameters up to 3 micrometers and increased lipid character in diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Raman and UV–vis spectroscopy studies on luteolin–Al(III) complexes
TL;DR: In this article, the results of structural investigation of the luteolin-Al(III) complexes in methanol:water solutions and in the solid state were presented, using UV-vis and FT-Raman spectroscopy accompanied by Factor Analysis, deconvolution and quantum-chemical calculations.
