Successful endovascular stroke therapy in a 103-year-old woman

TL;DR: The objective in documenting the oldest patient to successfully undergo stroke intervention is to corroborate that with the current evidence, appropriate patients undergoing rapid treatment may allow us to advance the limits of endovascular therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

A research roadmap of future endovascular stroke trials

TL;DR: The question is whether the widespread availability, ease of access and time savings justify using non-contrast CT (supplemented by ASPECTS) as ‘good enough’ to select patients when compared to advanced imaging modalities that may be more specific to detecting ischemia.

P-004 Publishing Title: Incidence of Large Vessel Occlusions Amongst All Hospital Discharges for Acute Ischemic Stroke – Estimating a Thrombectomy Eligible Population

TL;DR: The national burden of ELVO is determined by extrapolating these rates from a tertiary rural health system that captures over 85% of all ischemic strokes within its large rural catchment area to the national inpatient sample (NIS) database and the results serve as a starting point for estimating the ELVO stroke burden.
