Shape, relative size, and size‐adjustments in morphometrics

TL;DR: This paper reviewed the distinguishing features of ratios and residuals and their relationships to other methods of "size-adjustment" for continuous data for comparative biology and biological anthropology require meaningful definitions of relative size and shape.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modern human origins

TL;DR: This review presents a detailed discussion of new data pertinent to the origin of modern humans in light of three models and concludes that none are unequivocally supported by the available data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mystery solved: the identification of the two missing Romanov children using DNA analysis.

TL;DR: Forensic DNA testing on the remains discovered in 2007 using mitochondrial DNA, autosomal STR, and Y- STR testing have virtually irrefutable evidence that the two individuals recovered from the 2007 grave are the two missing children of the Romanov family: the Tsarevich Alexei and one of his sisters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morphometrics of the callitrichid forelimb: A case study in size and shape

TL;DR: Careful examination and quantification of the relationships between shape and size suggest that size information is fundamental for understanding shape differences within and among callitrichid species; in other words, most aspects of forelimb shape are significantly correlated with size.
