Journal ArticleDOI

Protein extraction for two‐dimensional electrophoresis from olive leaf, a plant tissue containing high levels of interfering compounds

TL;DR: This is the first time that a protocol for protein extraction from olive leaf appears to give satisfactory and reproducible results, and is expected to be applicable to other recalcitrant plant tissues and could be of interest to laboratories involved in plant proteomics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell and tissue localization of β-glucosidase during the ripening of olive fruit (Olea europaea) by in situ activity assay

TL;DR: Results clearly showed that the variations of oleuropein-degradative-β-glucosidases activity during ripening are due to changes in the competence of single mesocarp cells to synthesize the enzyme isoforms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acclimation to different depths by the marine angiosperm Posidonia oceanica: transcriptomic and proteomic profiles.

TL;DR: This work aimed to identify differences in transcriptomic and proteomic profiles, involved in the acclimation along the depth gradient in the seagrass Posidonia oceanica, and to improve the available molecular resources in this species, which is an important requisite for the application of eco-genomic approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seagrass light acclimation: 2-DE protein analysis in Posidonia leaves grown in chronic low light conditions

TL;DR: Under low-light conditions, four components of the ubiquitin/mediated proteolysis pathway, and the perchloric acid soluble translation inhibitor protein, were upregulated, suggesting that, in P. oceanica leaves, enhanced protein turnover mediates acclimation to low- light conditions.
