Journal ArticleDOI
Mg/TiC composites manufactured by pressureless melt infiltration
TL;DR: In this article, Molten Mg was pressurelessly infiltrated into TiC preforms (56 vol%) under flowing Ar at temperatures of 850, 900 and 950 °C. The rate of infiltration exhibited a strong temperature dependency.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interfacial phenomena in wettability of TiC by Al–Mg alloys
TL;DR: In this article, the sessile drop technique was used to study the wetting behavior of Al-Mg alloys on TiC sintered ceramic substrates under argon in the temperature range of 750-900 °C.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical and environmental effects on stress corrosion cracking of low carbon pipeline steel in a soil solution
TL;DR: In this paper, a slow strain rate test was performed on X52 pipeline steel in a glass autoclave containing a soil solution at a strain rate of 1 × 10−6in/s at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and characterization of Mg-AZ91/AlN composites
TL;DR: In this article, the synthesis and characterization of metal matrix composites (MMCs) of magnesium alloy AZ91E reinforced with AlN (49.5vol%) was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical behavior and microstructural characterization of 1026 Ni–B coated steel
TL;DR: In this paper, Ni-B coatings have been deposited on the surfaces of commercial steels (SAE-1026) using the electroless plating technique employing a nickel chloride solution with borane-dimethylamine as the reducing agent.
