Journal ArticleDOI
NLRP3 inflammasome suppression improves longevity and prevents cardiac aging in male mice
Fabiola Marín-Aguilar,Ana Victoria Lechuga-Vieco,Elísabet Alcocer-Gómez,Beatriz Castejón-Vega,Javier Lucas,Carlos Garrido,Alejandro Peralta‐Garcia,Antonio J. Pérez-Pulido,Alfonso Varela-López,José L. Quiles,Bernhard Ryffel,Bernhard Ryffel,Ignacio Flores,Pedro Bullón,Jesús Ruiz-Cabello,Mario D. Cordero +15 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that suppression of NLRP3 prevented many age‐associated changes in the heart, preserved cardiac function of aged mice and increased lifespan.
Journal ArticleDOI
A biclustering algorithm for extracting bit-patterns from binary datasets
TL;DR: A novel approach to extracting biclusters from binary datasets, BiBit, is introduced here and the excellent performance and the robustness of BiBit to density and size of input data and a comparison with Bimax shows that BiBit is faster while providing essentially the same results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sma3s: a universal tool for easy functional annotation of proteomes and transcriptomes
TL;DR: Sma3s is an accurate computational tool for annotating proteins in an unattended way that has now low computational requirements, and the complete annotation of a simple proteome or transcriptome usually takes around 24 hours in a personal computer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sma3s: a three-step modular annotator for large sequence datasets.
Antonio Muñoz-Mérida,Enrique Viguera,M. Gonzalo Claros,Oswaldo Trelles,Antonio J. Pérez-Pulido +4 more
TL;DR: Sma3s is a versatile tool for high-throughput annotation of a wide variety of sequence datasets that outperforms the accuracy of other well-established annotation algorithms, and it can enrich existing database annotations and uncover previously hidden features.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genomic analysis of the nitrate-respiring Sphingopyxis granuli (formerly Sphingomonas macrogoltabida) strain TFA.
Inmaculada García-Romero,Antonio J. Pérez-Pulido,Yolanda Elisabet González-Flores,Francisca Reyes-Ramírez,Eduardo Santero,Belén Floriano +5 more
TL;DR: The TFA genome organization shows evidence of the presence of putative integrative and conjugative elements (ICE) responsible for the acquisition of several characteristics by horizontal transfer mechanisms, which might confer an environmental advantage to the first S. granuli strain.
