Gray,Manish Pareek,David R. Jenkins,Sandra Beleza,Marco R. Oggioni,Isabel Inês Araújo,ANCoVer +21 more
TL;DR: An increase in resistance to ampicillin, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, ceftriaxone, ciprofloxacin, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole is detected in clinical isolates for E. coli and S. aureus, which might compromise empirical treatment in a setting with limited access to laboratory testing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Whole-genome analysis uncovers loss of blaZ associated with carriage isolates belonging to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) clone ST5-VI in Cape Verde.

Jenkins,Marta Aires-de-Sousa,Hermínia de Lencastre,Sandra Beleza,Isabel Inês Araújo,Teresa Conceição,Marco R. Oggioni +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, whole-genome sequences of 106 Staphylococcus aureus carriage isolates from Cape Verde were determined, showing high genetic variability, with the detection of 27 sequence types and three primary genetic clusters associated with ST152, ST15 and ST5.
