A method for offering a set of services is disclosed. The method may comprise storing, by a cloud infrastructure system, subscription order information identifying a service from a set of services provided by the cloud infrastructure system, the cloud infrastructure system comprising one or more computing devices. A computing device from the one or more computing devices may determine a service declaration for the service, the service declaration comprising information indicative of procedures for provisioning resources for enabling the service. A computing device from the one or more computing devices may cause the service to be provisioned based on the service declaration.

A method for handling failures in the execution flow of provisioning operations is disclosed. The method may comprise receiving, by a cloud infrastructure system, an error from the execution flow of provisioning a service from a plurality of service provided by the cloud infrastructure system, the cloud infrastructure system comprising one or more computing devices. A method for controlling the provisioning of a service associated with a customer order is disclosed. The method may comprise receiving, by a cloud infrastructure system, an order for a service from a plurality of service provided by the cloud infrastructure system, the cloud infrastructure system comprising one or more computing devices. Metadata-driven undo is described. In an embodiment, a metadata repository stores metadata that is associated with operations. Attributes associated with each operation are also stored in the metadata. Each operation is associated with an undolet that includes instructions for generating undo entries for operations of a particular operation type. Undo log entries are generated using the metadata and the undolet when a request is intercepted that includes an undoable operation. When an undo command is issued, the instructions in the undo log that are associated with a particular business transaction are executed to “rewind” the transaction.

The hierarchical rollback method utilizes a non-linear process designed to restore data to a previous point in the case of a data modification failure in order to prevent incorrect linking and data corruption. The hierarchical rollback methods are generated by retrieving existing data and creating commands in an order that will prevent orphan data in a datastore.
