A protocol architecture for multimedia document retrieval over high speed LANs
TL;DR: A dynamic bandwidth management scheme that uses the concept of time division multiple access (TDMA) and a framework for graceful degradation of the playout quality of multimedia objects in cases where the LAN's total capacity is not sufficient to meet the overall demand is proposed.
Book ChapterDOI
Human Interoperability Enterprise for High-Assurance Systems
TL;DR: This chapter elaborates on key human interoperability enterprise policy challenges and the role of coordinated human behavior and human cognition for developing high-assurance systems and provides a roadmap for developing an interoperability policy framework and engineering economically viable high-Assurance systems to support missions where people play a key role.

Allocation of computations with dynamic structures on hypercube based distributed systems
I. Ahmed,Arif Ghafoor,G.C. Fox +2 more
TL;DR: A dual-level dynamic load distribution strategy is proposed for allocating parallel computations with unpredictable structures to hypercube based distributed systems and is shown to outperform distributed load distribution.
