Denervation suppresses gastric tumorigenesis
Chun-Mei Zhao,Yoku Hayakawa,Yosuke Kodama,Sureshkumar Muthupalani,Christoph B. Westphalen,Christoph B. Westphalen,Grethe Andersen,Arnar Flatberg,Helene Johannessen,Richard A. Friedman,Bernhard W. Renz,Arne K. Sandvik,Vidar Beisvag,Hiroyuki Tomita,Akira Hara,Michael Quante,Zhishan Li,Michael D. Gershon,Kazuhiro Kaneko,James G. Fox,Timothy C. Wang,Duan Chen +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide evidence that proper innervation is critical at all stages of gastric tumorigenesis, and that denervation might represent a feasible strategy for the control of Gastric cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
A-like cells in the rat stomach contain ghrelin and do not operate under gastrin control
C. Dornonville de la Cour,Maria Björkqvist,Arne K. Sandvik,Ingunn Bakke,Chun-Mei Zhao,Duan Chen,Rolf Håkanson +6 more
TL;DR: Radioimmunoassay demonstrated ghrelin-like material in the rat oxyntic mucosa with moderate amounts also in antrum and duodenum and small amounts were found in the distal intestines and pancreas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Marked increase in gastric acid secretory capacity after omeprazole treatment.
TL;DR: Increased acid secretion after a conventional treatment period with a proton pump inhibitor is probably due to ECL cell hyperplasia and may have negative consequences for acid related diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gastrin-histamine sequence in the regulation of gastric acid secretion.
TL;DR: This work has shown that both somatostatin2' and the prostaglandin E1 analogue misoprostolF' inhibit gastrin induced histamine release and acid secretion as well as histamine stimulated acid secretion, suggesting that somatOSTatin release could explain the inhibitory effect of gastrin release.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gastrin Produces an Immediate and Dose-Dependent Histamine Release Preceding Acid Secretion in the Totally Isolated, Vascularly Perfused Rat Stomach
TL;DR: It is shown that gastrin induces vascular histamine release of such a magnitude that this substance could be the mediator of the gastrin effect on acid secretion.
