Investigations on tunneling and kissing bond defects in FSW joints for dissimilar aluminum alloys
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of two friction stir welding parameters (pin offset and plunge depth) on the formation of tunnel defects during welding of dissimilar aluminum alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aluminium based in-situ composite fabrication through friction stir processing: A review
TL;DR: In this paper, the current status of in-situ AMMCs fabrication through FSP technique is discussed and a review and summarization of various systems of AMMC fabrication such as Al Transition metals (TM), Al- Metal oxides (MO), and Al- Salt reaction systems, at various operating conditions and FSP parameters and their effects on resultant microstructure and final properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface Modifications of Titanium Materials for developing Corrosion Behavior in Human Body Environment: A Review☆
TL;DR: In this article, the importance of creating stable, compact and continuous oxide layers on the surface of Ti materials has been strongly effective to combat corrosion in aggressive body fluid, and the traditional and advanced surface modification techniques that are used to increase the bioactivity of the Ti surfaces and in turn to improve the corrosion behaviour have also been discussed at length.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface treatments of plant fibers and their effects on mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced composites: A review:
Rashid Latif,Saif Wakeel,Noor Zaman Khan,Arshad Noor Siddiquee,Shyam Lal Verma,Zahid A. Khan +5 more
TL;DR: The need of natural fiber-reinforced composites is increasing at very fast rate because of their ecofriendly production, decomposition, high specific strength, abundance, good physical and mechanic.
