Journal ArticleDOI

Current status and recent achievements in the field of horticulture with the use of light-emitting diodes (LEDs)

TL;DR: In this paper, an amalgamation of the recent research achievements in the horticulture and floriculture industry, ranging from greenhouse applications to climate rooms and vertical farming, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of heat treatment on quality retention of fresh-cut peach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of short-term heat treatment on quality of fresh-cut peaches and found a clear beneficial effect of 4-h pre-cutting heat treatment at 50°C for 10min on postharvest quality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Postharvest CO2 and ethylene production and quality of rocket (Eruca sativa Mill.) leaves as affected by leaf age and storage temperature

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of leaf age (young, fully expanded and mature leaves) as well as storage temperature (0, 5 and 10 °C) on color, chlorophyll content, yellowing, composition, CO2 and ethylene production of rocket (Eruca sativa mill.) leaves was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of 1-MCP prestorage treatment on ethylene and CO2 production and quality of ‘Hayward’ kiwifruit during shelf-life after short, medium and long term cold storage

TL;DR: Liang et al. as discussed by the authors studied the effect of 1-MCP prestorage treatment during short, medium and long term cold storage with subsequent exposures at 20°C (shelf-life) on ethylene and CO2 production, softening, soluble solids contents, titratable acidity, color and decay of ‘Hayward’ kiwifruit.
Journal ArticleDOI

1-Methylcyclopropene prevents ethylene induced yellowing of rocket leaves

TL;DR: In this paper, fully expanded rocket (Eruca sativa mill) leaves were treated with 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP, SmartFresh™) at a concentration of 0.5μl−l−1 for 4h at 10°C before storage for 10 days in air or in air with ethylene (1μl l−1).
