Marker assisted selection: a paradigm shift in Basmati breeding

TL;DR: QTL mapping using RIL population has unveiled several novel QTLs for grain and cooking quality traits and molecular markers are also being routinely used for establishing variety/hybrids identity and authentication of genetic purity of hybrid seed lots.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seasonal variation in thermal tolerance, oxygen consumption, antioxidative enzymes and non-specific immune indices of Indian hill trout, Barilius bendelisis (Hamilton, 1807) from central Himalaya, India.

TL;DR: Overall results of this study suggest that multiple environmental factors play a role in seasonal acclimation in B. bendelisis, which modulate the thermal tolerance, oxygen consumption, respiratory burst activity and status of anti-oxidative potential in wild environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pathological findings of experimental Aeromonas hydrophila infection in Golden Mahseer (Tor putitora)

TL;DR: This study standardizes the bacterial concentration of A. hydrophila for the experimental challenge of Golden Mahseer for the first time, and various clinical changes were also monitored during the infection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Soil salinity and land use-land cover interactions with soil carbon in a salt-affected irrigation canal command of Indo-Gangetic plain

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated land use land cover (LULC) relations with soil organic carbon (C) in a salinity-infested landscape with inter-spun vegetated and non-vegetated land area.
