Cell cycle function of a rice B2‐type cyclin interacting with a B‐type cyclin‐dependent kinase
Jeongkyung Lee,Avijit Das,Masatoshi Yamaguchi,Junji Hashimoto,Nobuhiro Tsutsumi,Hirofumi Uchimiya,Masaaki Umeda +6 more
TL;DR: Overexpression of CycB2;2 in rice plants resulted in acceleration of root growth without any increase in cell size, indicating thatCycB 2;2 promoted cell division probably through association with CDKB2 in the root meristem.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oxygen stress and adaptation of a semi-aquatic plant: rice ( Oryza sativa).
Avijit Das,Hirofumi Uchimiya +1 more
TL;DR: The metabolic adaptations of rice plants to oxygen constraints are evaluated to evaluate their ability to withstand submergence stress and to maintain respiration and photosynthesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glufosinate‐tolerant Tobacco Plants Directed by the Promoter of Adenylate Kinase Gene of Rice
Hiromitsu Fukuzawa,Satoshi Arai,Maki Kawai-Yamada,Avijit Das,Michito Tagawa,Hirofumi Uchimiya +5 more
TL;DR: Transgenic tobacco plants harbouring a chimeric gene consisting of the 5' upstream sequence of the AK gene fused with the gene encoding phosphinothricin acetyl transferase were generated and showed tolerance to glufosinate to a level four times higher than its commercial dose.
